Georgetown Apartment Renter's Guide
Georgetown Apartment Renter's Guide
Overview
Every couple of years, Georgetown plays host to a rather unconventional event known as "Return Day" when the streets come alive with residents partying the day away. "Return Day" arises from the colonial days whereby the general public would congregate in the town center to hear the final results of the elections which had taken place two days prior.
Georgetown is the perfect place to live if you like having plenty of beaches close by -- and who doesn't love the beach? And if the thought that quick drive will take you into the heart of a thriving forest excites you, then you've certainly come to the right location! Even though the town resides within an area of no more than four square miles, there's still plenty enough to see and do here, so there's little room for boredom to set in!

Moving to Georgetown
The layout of little Georgetown is a rather unusual affair. The heart of the town has been constructed in a circular format, where most other towns tend to be organized in a more traditional square shape. Many of the downtown buildings were designed in the Victorian Gothic style, and have now been added to the National Register of Historic Places.
What to Bring
When searching for property rentals in Georgetown, it's really no different to when searching elsewhere in the country in terms of what you will need to then be able to sign the contract. For starters, it's advisable to bring along some cash to pay for a month's rent in advance, and also to make a deposit on your chosen abode. The deposit tends to be equivalent to a single month's rent. Further, you'll need proof of your ID and some proof that you are making enough income to afford the rent. You'll need some character references -- three should be plenty, and you may be asked to undergo a credit check to prove that you're not up to your eyeballs in debt.
Georgetown Neighborhoods
There are several neighborhoods in which to search for your rental apartment or house.
North Bedford Street: There are no less than seven schools located within a mile of North Bedford Street. Nine restaurants and a grocery store -- the El Mercado Market on Layton Avenue -- are all situated close by.
Silverberry Street: Located just off U.S. Route 113, and with four restaurants established within walking distance, Silverberry Street is an attractive proposition for those looking for places to rent in Georgetown.
Patterson Drive: Beach bums rejoice! You'll love the thought of having an apartment rental on Patterson Drive! There are no less than four beaches within close proximity of this Georgetown neighborhood, and it's a short drive to Indian River Bay.
Elderberry Street: With four restaurants located just around the corner, including La Quetzalteca Mexican on Georgetown Plaza and a Taco Bell on the crossroads of Route 9 and Route 113, Elderberry Street could be the ideal locality if you're looking for an apartment to rent and want to walk to every meal.
Living in Georgetown
How do folks who reside in Georgetown keep themselves busy? Well, if you like your beer, then you'll certainly enjoy paying a visit to the 16 Mile Brewing Company on South Bedford Street. There, you'll find a terrific assortment of ales that will have your head buzzing in no time. Screams at the Beach on Lewes Georgetown Highway has nothing to do with the Great White Shark known as Jaws. Instead, it's all about ghostly apparitions and various freaks of the night. You ought to stay well clear of this house of horrors if you've got a weak heart, but if you're a fan of horror movies you'll love it.
