Homeland Park is about a 40-minute drive southwest of Greenville in the northwest corner of South Carolina. Homeland Park is a census-designated place, which is just a fancy way of saying it's notable on the map but doesn't have an official city government. The population here has close to 6,300 residents. The community is considered a suburb of Anderson, S.C., a city with close to 27,000 citizens located just to the north, even though it sits outside of that town's city limits. Homeland Park has a good mix of rental properties, including individual rental homes, apartment complexes, duplexes, and townhomes.
Moving to Homeland Park
It's a good idea to keep an open mind and stay flexible when looking for rental homes in Homeland Park because many of the apartment complexes, duplexes and individual homes are a bit on the older side. There are also a good deal of mobile homes for rent here, which is just one more option to consider. There are many apartments for rent and rental homes here with individual owners, so you may be able to find a month to month rental, lease or an all bills paid deal, which will save you a lot of money.
A majority of rental properties here are run by management companies, and they almost always require background checks and credit checks when applying for an apartment lease. Make sure you bring your driver's license, state ID or passport, social security number and a list of prior rental references when it's time to fill out your rental application. You may need a copy of a recent utility bill and a pay stub as well as proof that you have an income and are able to pay your rent each month.
Neighborhoods in Homeland Park
They could almost build a gate around Homeland Park itself as the community is essentially one large neighborhood. For commuting into Anderson you may want to consider renting an apartment near Highway 81, which runs through the center of Homeland Park, since the road takes you straight into that city. Meadow Run Apartments: This apartment complex is located on the east side of Homeland Park just off Highway 28, which also takes you straight into Anderson. Meadow Run has one bedroom and two bedroom apartments for rent, and amenities include individual parking spaces, central air conditioning and extra storage. Located across the street from a coin operated laundry facility.
Jonathans Joy Apartments: Located off U.S. HIghway 29 near its intersection with Highway 81. Jonathans Joy Apartments offer two bedroom apartments for rent with washer and dryer hookups, garbage paid, and private parking spaces.
Living in Homeland Park
Outside of the Southgate Shopping Center, which is anchored by a Quality Foods grocery store, and the Watson Village Shopping Center, which is centered around a White Jones Furniture and Sporting Goods retail location, there isn't much to do when it comes to getting out in Homeland Park. Residents here drive up the road to Anderson to take in a movie, do some serious shopping or to spend a night out on the town eating and/or playing adult style. There are a lot of opportunities for outdoor recreation nearby, including biking, hiking, fishing, boating, hunting, camping and golfing, but again, you have to drive outside of Homeland Park to participate in any of these pastimes. Anderson Memorial Stadium, located just outside the Homeland Park town limits on the northeast side, is home of the Anderson University Trojans baseball team, which hosts home games regularly in the spring. You can always head about 15 minutes to the east of Homeland Park and play a round of golf at Pine Creek Golf Club, or spend the day outdoors at nearby Allen Park, which is home base (notice the baseball thread here) for recreation in and along Broadway Lake.
