Grab some crackers -- Kaukauna, WI, is home to the world famous Kaukauna Spreadable Cheese Company, which isn't all that surprising for a town in Wisconsin (it is frequently referred to as "America's dairyland," after all). Although settled in 1759, Kaukauna was not incorporated as a town until 1885. At first, Kaukauna was nicknamed "The Lion on the Fox"; the town is now known as "The Electric City" because of its hydroelectric plant. Today, Kaukauna has a population of just over 15,000 and the city has its own police, fire and rescue departments available for residents.
