Located a few miles northeast of Dallas, the city of Fate encompasses a 6.8 square mile area along I-30, just east of Lake Ray Hubbard. The city's name is derived from one of the early settlers of the area and was actually a nickname that Lafayette Brown's wife used to call him. The town was settled in 1880 and incorporated in 1908, but few actually began to move here until after 2000. Now, the population has blossomed to include 7,442 people, and the economic growth is expected to continue. Because of the recent influx of residents, most of the apartment complexes in this gorgeous little city are brand spankin' new and ready for the loving care of new tenants!

Moving to Fate

If you're looking to move to Fate, make sure to bring all the right paperwork with you. This means you have to have copies of your ID, letters of reference, proof of income, rental history, and a recent credit report. When making the move, it would be wise to avoid the summer months as weather gets into the high 80s and 90s. Winter will make things a bit easier with temps at high 50s and 60s.

Neighborhoods of Fate

Living in Fate has some very nice perks! The first of which is that your new home will probably have the shiny, brand new look that most new homes have in common. There are a few different areas to choose from, but once again, it's just a choice of where, because 95 percent of the properties are going to be new builds. There are two neighborhoods that are specifically planned out and come with HOA fees, as well.

Williamsburg / Woodcreek / Spring Meadow: If you are looking for home rentals in Fate located within a planned suburban neighborhood, start your search in the Williamsburg, Woodcreek, or Spring Meadow subdivisions. The lawns are beautifully sculpted and landscaped, you will find parks within each area, and the usual commuting time is about 30 minutes coming and going.

W. Holiday Road: If you look in the W. Holiday Road area, you will find brand new complexes that feature one- to three-bedroom apartments for rent -- some of which are pet-friendly apartments for those with four-legged companions! When the two of you get hungry, head on over to D's BBQ.

Living in Fate

Living in Fate means a high quality of life for all who come here. The city is perfect for those who want to live the peaceful life in a small-town setting, but with the amenities and perks that life in a bigger city can sometimes offer. On any given day, you will find locals out playing a round of disc golf at the Cedars Disc Golf Course on CD Boren Parkway with an enthusiasm that will make you grin! I-30 snakes along the southern edge of the city and is a direct route to Lake Ray Hubbard. The close proximity of the lake provides excellent respite from the summer heat and plenty of water in which to swim, fish, and ski when the mood strikes!
