After the completion of the Sevierville and Eastern Railway in the community back in 1909, the rail station here was named to pay respect to the chief engineer of line whose name just happened to be you guessed, Seymour! From day forward, this community became known as Seymour to locals and visitors alike, and today it is official.

With a population of just 11,000, Seymour, Tenn., is a great place to enjoy the great outdoors. Located near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the town is also close to Mead's Quarry Lake. Community-wide bike and hiking trails are open year-round.
