South: To the south is Shell Point by Parris Island. Visit the Parris Island Museum near old Beaufort for some local history lessons.

East: In the east, the neighborhood is known as Battery Creek and this neighborhood is further broken into smaller neighborhoods, like Wrights Point, Picket Fences (just like the television show), and Battery Shores.

West: The neighborhoods of Laurel Bay and Habersham are located to the west. Located next to the water, this area makes for some wonderful access to the bay.

Living in Burton

Living in Burton is a great time. No, really! There is always a festival or an expo going on to occupy your time. The Gullah Festival in May is a three-day event that hosts plays, music and local tours of the area. In July, the Beaufort Water Festival is a ten-day music showcase with tons of fun for all ages. If you enjoy history, there is a Spring Home Walk usually held in April in which guided tours are given of the many historical homes in the area.
