City Guide for Springdale, OH

The town of Springdale was known as Springfield for much of its early existence, and U.S. Route 4 -- better known locally as Springfield Pike -- runs through the middle of the town. Confusion with another city of that name elsewhere in Ohio (and resulting waits of up to six months for mail) prompted the city to change its name to Springdale.

Springdale, Ohio, is a moderately sized suburb of Cincinnati located on the northern edge of Hamilton County, Ohio. Springdale is perhaps best known as the location of one of the area's largest shopping malls, as well as Springdale Cinema de Lux, one of the largest movie theater complexes in the region. Springdale is an older suburb, founded in the early 1800s, but was known as Springfield up until 1850. Today, Springdale is home to more than 11,000 people. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for dog friendly apartments in Springdale, OH

Finding an apartment in Springdale that accepts your pet may not be easy, but it’s very possible. Keep in mind, most of the time you’ll have to pay a premium for bringing your dog along in your new apartment. Some apartments require you to pay monthly pet rent, others will ask for a non-refundable pet fee or a refundable pet deposit.

While landlords and property management companies have varying pet policies, most of them limit the number of dogs you can bring to your apartment and include breed and weight restrictions.

If your pet falls under some of the restrictions outlined in the pet policy, it’s still worth asking the landlord if they can make an exception for your dog. Preparing a pet resume ahead of time could help you build the case for your furry friend. Make sure to include information on behavioral training your dog went through over the years and proof of vaccinations. If you can, include references from your former landlord and/or neighbors.
