It's very green in and around Hastings-on-Hudson -- we're talking about parks that is. There's Hillside Park, Draper Park, MacEchron Park, Fulton Park -- have you had enough yet? If not, there's bigger parks around town such as the Palisades Interstate Park, Tallman Mountain State Park. For some golfing greens, head over to The Saint Andrew's Golf Club, Elmwood Country Club, Scarsdale Golf Club or Metropolis Country Club. And there's always fun to be had on the Hudson River -- the city is called Hastings-on-Hudson after all.

Shopping will require a car, but when does it not? How else are you going to bring all those bags home? Vernon Hills Shopping Center is a nice drive away, and has tons of stores such as Brooks Brothers, Fig & Olive, Gap, Lord & Taylor, Banana Republic and American Eagle Outfitters. Other big name brands such as REI, Costco, Bed Bath & Beyond, Pier 1 Imports and Burlington Coat Factory are spread out around the area, too. When it comes to groceries, you have A&P as well as Cookin Gluten Free and Stew Leonard's just a quick trip down the 11.

You'll find the majority of restaurants in town on Warburton Avenue. Once you're there, you can choose from Harvest On Hudson, Juniper, Slices, Taiim Falafel Shack, New China Restaurant and Tony's Steak & Seafood. Harvest On Hudson is a big favorite, serving up Gnocco Fritto, House-Made Bacala Fritters, Carpaccio di Manzo and Fig, Goat Cheese & Prosciutto pizza. Slices serves up some delicious chicken fingers, spaghetti and meatballs, and a macaroni and cheese everyone raves about. Taiim Falafel shack is Zagat-rated and has great dishes like the "Masada" and "Shakshouka," with great options for vegetarians. Tony's Steak and Seafood is perfect for, well, steak and seafood. Make sure to try the fried zucchini and the Alaskan King Crab for a complete experience. New China Restaurant has classic Chinese dishes such as wonton egg drop soup and roast pork chow mein. For something a little different, try the lobster fried rice. Maud's Tavern is known for it's comfort food so be sure to stop by for shepherd's pie!

To wash down your dinner, stop by River Road House or Jomac's Sports Bar.

If you find the need to get away, not that you will, Westchester Airport is just 35 minutes away while the LaGuardia Airport is 55 minutes away. Another way to get around is the Metro-North Train, which has the Croton-Harmon and Grand Central line running through town.
