First off, we should mention that this town is a fan of things that fly high. Really high. To Space! As such, you'll find The International Space Hall of Fame and the New Mexico Museum of Space History all within city limits. Of course, you don't have to love everything airborne to live here, but it's always nice to know your town is into that kind of stuff.

If you’re looking for more of a luxury apartment in Alamogordo, the closest you’ll find in this Land of Enchantment is at Las Ventanas. Depending on vacancy rates, the security deposit can be steep, but residents seem to really like living in this complex. Plan on paying from $535 to $1,185 per month for an apartment. Oh, and Las Ventanas is a pet-friendly apartment community, but charges extra rent for your pooch.

Although there are a number of other apartment complexes in Alamogordo, their rents are a well-kept secret, for some reason. One needs to stop by to get a rent quote.

Bugs are a bit of a problem in Alamogordo, which is typical of most desert towns. Cockroaches and spiders are difficult to keep at bay even with the best pest control services. Check any prospective apartments for bug poop before signing a lease.

If you like amazing scenery and a small-town vibe, Alamogordo is ideal for you. Sure, there are some rundown areas, but that’s typical of most towns. You may have to get used to the dust devils and the high winds in the spring but you’ll be paid back with eternal sunshine and breathtaking mountain views.
