Linwood City Center: Bordering Scull Bay and Steelman Bay, with wetlands and Meadowland Park, this is a beautiful suburban neighborhood with a strong coastal nature. You'll find small apartment buildings and medium sized to large single family homes here, all built between 1940 and 1999. Vacancies pop up frequently here, particularly outside the summer recreational season.

New Rd / Oak Ave: Adjoining Route 9, a major artery, and bordering Bargaintown Pond - it's a bargain that you get to live in such a lovely place - this a suburban neighborhood by density. Vacancies are scarcer here than in the city center, but you'll find plenty of single family homes and apartment complexes to choose from, like the Harbour Isle. Steelmanville: Suburban by density and divided by Route 9, this neighborhood is an area of tree lined streets and medium to large single family homes as well as town homes. Much of this area is occupied by owners, but if you look carefully you can find rental properties available in buildings constructed primarily between 1940 and 1999. Ocean Heights Plaza is nearby for convenient shopping. The Garden State Parkway toll road is easily accessed from this community.

Living in Linwood

The city center is all about the sea - and estuaries, streams, marshlands, and green space. Enjoy the beauty that nature offers, go boating, fishing, swimming, or exploring. If you like the seaside and you enjoy four seasons, this is a sweet spot.

The city also has a lush park system with around 36 acres, as well as a bicycle path that includes 33 acres. You will find plenty of opportunities to get your sport on too - with facilities that include baseball, softball, football, and soccer fields, and even a court for street hockey. Kids have access to several playgrounds. And then, if your sport is more of the strolling and enjoying flowers kind of past time, you'll find that here too, with the beautiful gardens of Linwood Arboretum. Check out Hartshorne Park, the SJI Park, and Krumm Farm Vineyard for other lovely strolls.

Or how about going for a sail? Whether you kayak, canoe, or own your own boat or not, you can easily get on the water by taking the Cape May-Lewes ferry service, a scenic and convenient, way to get across the Delaware Bay. And if you really want to leave town, the Atlantic City International Airport is just twenty minutes away.

Shopping is quite vibrant here - Central Square Linwood features everything from a toy shop to a cheese shop - boutique shopping at its finest. You'll also find many fun and fine dining options, like Chaba Thai or Luke Palladino Seasonal Italian.

If history's your thing, do check out the Kirk Maritime Museum, a labor of love created by Jim Kirk, the first historian of Linwood, and ship modeller Tom Adams. Whether you're interested in shipwrights tools, or hands-on exhibits where you can practice rope knots, there's something for everyone to enjoy here. The best part is perhaps a vast collection of Tom Adams ship models including a whaling ship.
