Glen Rock, New Jersey, like all cities in Bergen County, observes a commercial-free Sunday. What does that mean? Well, excluding food and gasoline, it's actually against the law to sell most goods on Sundays. Located in Bergen County, NJ is a small place called Glen Rock. Glen Rock is a haven for commuters, just a short drive to New York City, which is right across the Hudson River. Founded in 1894 when it was officially formed from portions of two other towns -- Ridgewood and Saddle River, Glen Rock has 11,601 residents as of the 2010 census. It was given the name Glen Rock due to the large boulder in the center of town, which weighs in at 570 short tons, and is believed to have been deposited by a retreating glacier long ago.
