Moving to Davis Lake-Eastfield

Want to move here? You will be made very welcome, just as long as you pass the tests that the landlord or property manager sets for you. Don't worry; you don't have to go on any quests or slay any dragons -- just be prepared to show proof of income, references, and photo ID, and have a clean credit history. Oh, and you will need enough cash to put down a deposit, too. What is that you say? You would rather slay some dragons than go through all that paperwork? Sorry, it is non-negotiable. Oh, and when you do find an apartment to rent in Davis Lake-Eastfield, you had better jump on it quickly, as vacancies don't come around very often. People here are pretty settled.

Neighborhoods in Davis Lake-Eastfield

The "Davis Lake" part of this neighborhood's name refers to a large planned community of some 800 homes that cluster around a 14-acre lake. Although many of the homes are houses on the larger side of the scale (think four or five bedrooms, and you will be in the right ballpark), you will find the occasional condo for rent as well, if you look hard enough. If you are a resident of the Davis Lake community, you get the right to fish in the lake, which is kept stocked by the homeowners' association. On the downside, you have to pay homeowners' association fees, but there are some pretty sweet perks (besides the fish), including a volleyball court, private swimming pool and tennis clubs. Great if you are the sporty type.

The northern part of the neighborhood is the part that can lay the most claim to the "Eastfield" label, as it lies alongside Eastfield Road. This part of town is pretty sparsely populated, with lots of open space. If you are the type that likes to get back to nature, you might enjoy having the space to walk, jog or simply contemplate life. On the other hand, if you always need to be surrounded by people, well, maybe this isn't the perfect place for you. Most of the properties here are large houses, so if you have your heart set on renting an apartment, you will need to keep your eyes open and jump on any opportunity that comes your way.

Living in Davis Lake-Eastfield

Once you have managed to find a place to call home, you can look forward to a pretty sweet life. Despite being just a 20-minute drive out of Charlotte (and yes, you will need a car to make that journey), the pace of life here is much less frantic than in the middle of the city. Get into the local groove and make time for hobbies and recreation. Perhaps now is the right time to take up a new sport. If you are wondering whether or not it really is the right time, trust us, it is. Your body will thank you in years to come for the effort you put into training now. Get on down to the Charlotte Racquet Club North, where you can swim, work out in the gym, lift weights or perfect your tennis serve on one of 14 lighted courts. You can also indulge your more gluttonous side at the beer, wine and snack bar, but go easy on the drinks. Too many glasses of Merlot and your game might start to suffer.

Do you prefer to take your exercise with a golf club in your hand? Davis Lake-Eastfield is within easy reach of not just one, but three golf clubs, Skybrook, Tradition and Highland. Choose one, pick up your clubs and get out on the fairway.
