John Cusack's character in Grosse Pointe Blank was a hit man and he had to go back to his high school reunion in his hometown of Grosse Pointe. Nobody at the reunion really believed that he was a hit man and thought he was just making a joke. Though the movie was fictional, it's not surprising that someone of one of the five similarly named Grosse Pointe communities would doubt someone was really a hit man because it's such a nice area.
When you say the name Grosse Pointe to a resident of the Detroit area, they usually think of a high-class, old money kind of neighborhood. In truth there are five cities that incorporate the Grosse Pointe name, and they are all located near each other about 10 miles northeast of downtown Detroit. Grosse Pointe Woods is actually the only one of the Grosse Pointe communities that is not on the coast of Lake St. Clair. See more
Finding apartments with a pool in Grosse Pointe Woods means cooling off from the summer heat, get-togethers, and more exercise. However, there are a few things to consider before signing your next lease.
Ask the property management how long the pool is open each year. Is it seasonal? Does the pool have a heat pump to make it practical to swim beyond summertime? You should also inquire about pool rules, capacity, and if unattended children are permitted. The size of the pool also matters. An oversized apartment complex with a tiny pool could mean crowded summers and frustrations when trying to take a quick dip.
Finding apartments with a pool in Grosse Pointe Woods could also drive up your rent, but may be worth the trade-off. Assess the overall amenities of the property. Apartments with a pool may look fantastic on the outside, but inside the kitchen could need an upgrade or the bedrooms could prove smaller than you want.
Once you find the apartment of your dreams, enjoy an afternoon swim and get to know your new neighbors.
