Originally home to the Pawtucket Indian tribe, Newburyport was once a part of Newbury proper, a fishing and trading center established in the 1630s. The split in town was caused by the prosperity of the port -- whose densely-occupied waterfront broke off to become Newburyport in 1764, and an icon of maritime history and success.
Located on the charming North Shore, not far from the cultural enclave of Boston, Newburyport offers gorgeous ocean views and quaint charm, as well as many community activities and a wealth of housing options. Thinking palm trees on the beach are your thing? Then this may not be the place. But for beautiful white sand beaches, fishing and boating, and a town laced with galleries and fine dining options, this is the spot. See more
Studio apartments could offer the best of Newburyport living at a less expensive price tag than larger units. Look for the best buildings near entertainment, dining, and public transportation or highway access.
Ask about the square footage of studio apartments in Newburyport during your tour. Even a little extra space in another building can offer more room for storage or an additional chair. Consider the layout and what you can accomplish before you sign. You should have enough room for your bed, a small sitting area, and a dining table. You can always get creative and loft your bed to save on space underneath or install a fold-down table or desk that tucks away.
