As a small town with a population of a little less than 16,000 people, Crawfordsville isn’t the most hip and happening spot. West of the city center you’ll find the campus of Wabash College, a well regarded all men’s school that provides the city with some youth, not to mention testosterone. In this scenic and safe area, you’ll find a variety of rentals, many of which offer short-term leases. Two bedrooms here range from $500 to $650.

Living north of the city center will put you in closer proximity to Lafayette, which as I mentioned, will be a huge advantage for you. The neighborhoods in this area tend to be more settled, family-friendly and suburban feeling. Here you’ll find the occasional newer, “luxury” apartment complex with amenities like gyms, pools and clubhouses. There will also be a few great rental homes in this area. Two bedroom apartments here generally range from $600 to $800, while rental homes go for $500 to $800, depending on the size.

Good news for animal lovers! Crawfordsville’s rental market is incredibly pet friendly. Though some management companies may require an additional pet deposit, or have size or breed restrictions, most area apartments are both cat and dog friendly.
