City Guide for Streator, IL

Did you know that Streator has some links with important astronomical findings. Yes, the city was actually the birthplace of Clyde Tombaugh, the man who discovered Pluto back in 1930. Okay, so it's not Jupiter or Saturn, but that's still pretty cool!

Today the city of Streator is home to a tight-knit community of residents and is found in LaSalle County, Illinois. The Vermilion River runs through the western reaches of the city, which is about 81 miles to the southwest of Chicago as the crow flies. The city is relatively isolated, with the closest interstate highway being at least 15 minutes drive away, with Interstate 39 to the west and Interstate 55 to the southeast. There are, however, some other U.S. routes through the city, such as Routes 23 and 18, which criss-cross through the center of town. Nearby towns and settlements include Ottawa to the north, Dwight to the east, and Pontiac to the south. See more

What to keep in mind when looking for studio apartments in Streator, IL

Ask about the square footage of studio apartments in Streator during your tour. Even a little extra space in another building can offer more room for storage or an additional chair. Consider the layout and what you can accomplish before you sign. You should have enough room for your bed, a small sitting area, and a dining table. You can always get creative and loft your bed to save on space underneath or install a fold-down table or desk that tucks away.
