The city of Fort Valley resides in Peach County, Georgia, and is part of the Macon metropolitan area. The main employer in the city is the Blue Bird Corporation, which manufactures buses. Interestingly enough however, there are no bus routes within the actual town itself. Otherwise, in keeping with the bygone years, agriculture still plays a large role as an employer within the area. Chamlee Dr: five schools are located within a single mile of Chamlee Dr, including two elementary schools, two high schools, and one middle school. Shops and restaurants are ten minutes-drive away.

River Rd: if you're intent on a country living style, then River Rd holds the key. There are four schools within a mile and access to local amenities is a mere ten minutes away.

Living in Fort Valley

Fort Valley is well served by the surrounding road network. U.S. Route 341 travels through the heart of the small city, as do State Routes 49 and 96.

If you're looking for something to do, then why not pop over to Lane Southern Orchards on Lane Road, which is one of the main peach production farms in the entire area. And yes, you can help yourself to the peaches, providing you pay for them of course. Best time to visit is during the peach season which is late spring through early summer. The farm also serves up delicious lunches to those who've not over-indulged on the peaches. Massee Lane Gardens on Massee Lane is a 100-plus acre botanical garden. If you wish to witness the beautiful camellias in full bloom, best go in either fall or early spring. If on the other hand you'd like to see the day lilies at their best, then visit in midsummer. There's also a "secret" Japanese garden for you to take a deep level of inspiration from, if you can find it. It's inadvisable to live in a town without going out to eat once in a while. That said, if you'd care for some Mexican "taco", then check out Mi Ranchito Restaurant on Vineville Street. The food is excellent and the service couldn't be any better, so you've the best of both culinary worlds! Fancy a hot dog? Then head over to Nu-Way Weiner on U.S. Highway 341, Fort Valley, where you'll be treated to the very best hot dogs (and chili) in town! The Dodis Southern Aloha Restaurant at Commercial Heights serves up Hawaiian style nosh. If you're not entirely sure what that is, then best take a trip over to the restaurant and say "Aloha!"
