Edgemoor, Delaware, is tiny place. So small in fact, it only has about 5,600 people living in it. Edgemoor is primarily a residential area, so you won't find a great deal going on. That said, it's not just a wasteland with nothing to do but watch tumbleweeds roll on by. There's a strong and vibrant community with many amenities here. And, even in the off chance you do run out of things to do and get bored, you're less than three miles from central Wilmington.

Moving to Edgemoor

It shouldn't be too difficult to find places for rent in Edgemoor. However, if you don't want to end up in the kind of property where you have to bunk with a family of particularly aggressive roaches, then it's a good idea to allow yourself four to six weeks to locate property rentals that tick all your boxes. Edgemoor Neighborhoods

Although Edgemoor is a small area, there's still some difference between the neighborhoods. It's important to get an idea of what each neighborhood is like, so that you move into the most suitable area for you.

Colony: This is a pretty neighborhood with plenty of green space and the Shellpot Creek cutting through it. There's a good mixture of houses and luxury apartments here, so you can find whatever your heart desires.

Marsh: This neighborhood is fairly convenient for pedestrians as it's within walking distance of several stores and eateries, and is also close to a bus route.

Edgemoor Terrace: Many of the homes in this area are on the larger side. You're close to a gorgeous park and within easy reach of a few stores if you need to do some light grocery shopping.

Living in Edgemoor

While many of Edgemoor's residents drive, there are a number of bus services that run through the area, which can take you into central Wilmington or other areas. However, you don't need to escape Edgemoor to have some fun. Head to the First State Lanes on Kiwanis Drive, where you can bowl, play arcade games, or grab some food. If you're a fan of the great outdoors, you can spend some time in Fox Point State Park of New Castle County River Road Park. You'll find several places to chow down on some good food, including Bella Italy Pizzeria and the Marsh Road Diner.
