Spacious three-bedroom home, with a half bath downstairs and full bath upstairs that has a separate standalone shower as well as a whirlpool bathtub. All bedrooms are on the second level. The main level has an open-floor living room and dining area into the kitchen, with newer appliances. From the kitchen there is access to a large back deck, for grilling and hosting friends and neighbors.
Within walking distance to the Anacostia metro.
There is also ZipCar parking lots that are 2 blocks from the house, and there 3-4 cars in each lot.
Increased and ongoing development. (there is a new Starbucks 3 blocks away) -- with a very active Neighborhood Council that is very involved and concerned about balancing development opportunities with preservation of the deep history and culture of Anacostia. They hold many public meetings and keep the community well-informed.
There are a few beloved eateries that are less than 5 minute walk (Busboys and Poets, Mama's Kitchen, and Turning Natural).
Also less than 5 minute walk -- an amazing playhouse, Arts Center, radio station, and the historic Fredrick Douglass house.
The house is located right off the main street (MLK), and a 5-7 minute walk to the Anacostia Park with accessibility to really great biking trails.
In addition to the many bus routes that will take you all over the city, you can quickly and easily bike to shops, grocery stores, restaurants, bars, baseball/soccer stadiums in the nearby Southwest Waterfront/DC Wharf, Navy Yard, Eastern Market, and Capitol Hill areas.

Gas - $15 most of the year, and $40-$80 during the winter
Electricity - $40 most of the year, and $60-$100 during the summer
Water - consistently in the range of $20-$40
