Neighborhoods in Gleneagle

Gleneagle isn't even a real city (CDPs, put your hands up!), so it doesn't have those cool distinctive neighborhoods you might find in big cities around the nation. That's OK, you'll find your spot just the same. Here are some crucial differences between the areas around town to help you figure out where you belong.

North: At the tippy top, you'll find smaller homes with close-knit lots and friendly neighbors. Just below that, you have the arts/lit section. All the streets are named after books. These guys are a bit older, but they have more charm and spacious lots. The roads are even charmingly organic. This is also the site of the Gleneagle Golf Club, which sits between the north half and the south. Just north of the CDP border is Vistas at Jackson Creek, a lovely apartment rentals spot. There aren't any eateries at this end, which keeps it nice and quiet.

South: Aim for the bottom half of the town if you want easy access to I-25 and the town's many restaurants and shops. You'll find townhouses on Falcons Nest Loop and several pretty planned communities surrounding it. Shepard Heights also boasts some lovely apartments, and they're right next door to a few more duplexes. This area is also walking distance to Tao's Oriental Cuisine.

Apartment Complexes

Vistas at Jackson Creek: Close to hot shopping, tasty eateries and that ever-present Air Force Academy, these Vistas are a great option for just about everyone. Pick one, two or three beds, and enjoy the sweet, sweet luxury upgrades, including granite and detached garages.

RidgePointe: Also known as Shepard Heights, RP has the all the apartment home you can handle, even if that's a lot. Pet friendly, stuffed full o' amenities (you've always wanted a pool, garage and jogging trail, right?) and tucked away without being remote, this housing option certainly doesn't involve much sacrifice.

Living in Gleneagle

Anyone needing to get his or her big city fix won't have to travel far for fine dining, thrilling nightlife and serious shopping. That said, Gleneagle and El Paso County is a place for outdoor enthusiasts. There are dozens of trails, the mountainous glory of Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods nature center all vying for closer inspection. One other notable neighbor is the Air Force Academy situated to the south. People rave about the beauty of this military university, so checking out the campus on a lovely day is a must do.
