City GuideMaywood
It's easy to miss, but hard to resist. The city of Maywood, all 1.18 square miles of it, is the third smallest city in Los Angeles County. What you may not know, though, is that it is the "first American city to outsource all of its city services..." according to the city itself, since it has dismantled virtually everything, even the police department. That shouldn't scare you though, since this small community offers some great apartments to rent/

Having trouble with Craigslist Maywood? Can't find that special apartment for rent on Apartment Finder or Zillow? Apartment List is here to help!

Moving to Maywood

Home to about 27,395 people, the city has a lot to offer, including two major parks, the Riverfront Park, and the Maywood Street Fair. You'll find plenty of great apartments to rent -- and also townhomes and houses that are rentals, as well.

Let's make it clear. This is a densely populated city, but it does not necessarily have any actual neighborhoods. The reason for this is quite simple, it's too small. Nevertheless, it is worth exploring for individuals who want to rent houses or who want to find high-rise apartments that offer some of the best access to Los Angeles weather. The community is affordable, too, with a low overall cost of living, especially compared with the area around it. This means that you could get more home than you thought was possible -- but just remember that there's not a lot of spare housing to go around.

You will find affordable apartments to rent in Maywood. Some single-family homes with both modern and more traditional architecture are available for rent, as well. You are likely to find a few townhomes available, too, though these are less common than apartments.

Living in Maywood

In terms of renting and owning, there's a huge rental market present in Maywood. In fact only 26 percent of homes here are owner occupied. More than 70 percent of homes are rented. However, for renters, this area can be tricky because only about three percent of homes for rent here tend to be unoccupied at any given time. That means you will need to have decent income, steady employment proof, and a decent credit score to rent an apartment in Maywood. You'll also have to act quickly since the good ones tend to go quickly.

Overall, this area has plenty to offer, including all of the benefits of living in Los Angeles County (like the weather and the access to the various amenities.) Yet, it also has a high level of affordability, too, which makes it a very appealing offer for anyone looking to settle down in the Southern California sun.
