Most folks in Eufaula drive. There's not so much in the way of public transportation. During the winter, it can get pretty nippy. Summers can be hot and muggy, which is why swimming in the lake is such a popular activity.

As for things to do in the area, there isn't much. Eufaula is a quiet town, home to quite a few pieces of historic architecture, but it has almost no nightlife to speak of. A few locally owned restaurants dot the landscape, but for a big-city experience, most people head to nearby Montgomery or Columbus. For entertainment, most folks go fishing in Lake Eufaula. It's known as the "Big Bass Capital of the World" for a reason, after all.
