Cascade Court: These two bedroom apartments are a bit more expensive, but this complex offers a viable option for those seeking a few more amenities. You'll get the basics here and some frills, including full size in-unit washer and dryer, sports court, vaulted ceilings and ample storage.
Living in Waller
With a Walk Score of 18, you'll need your own vehicle to get around town. Public transportation exists and bus routes are ample, on the Pierce Transit system, with stops along 72nd Street taking you downtown in just 12 minutes. If you're keen on exploring more of Washington, Seattle is just a half hour away and makes for a nifty day-trip. I-5 exits are nearest to Waller so residents can bypass the traffic and get on their way quicker than most. The Amtrak station in Tacoma is just four miles away, as well.
While Waller is rife with chain stores like Kmart, Big Lots and Safeway, residents can also go hunting for thrifty treasures at the local Goodwill. Thunderbird Cigar Shop provides regal aficionado's world-class wrapped tobacco products and up the block is the Nash Redneck Art Gallery for those with an interest in the fine arts.
For a day spent outdoors, check out one of the local farms nearby in Puyallup. Linbo Blueberry Farm offers freshly picked blueberries, and pumpkins (when in season) at Pichas Pumpkin Patch and Spooner Farms, are just a few local treats you'll discover while out and about. Road Farms produce stand also offers regional fruits and vegetables that residents crave.
The Chalet Tavern is the local bar where regulars mingle and folks kick back while watching a Seahawks or Mariners game on the big screens. The avid extreme sports enthusiast will rejoice. The nearby Mount Rainier offers guided ski and snowboarding tours through local companies. While it is listed as an active volcano, you can feel safe that experts have reported there is no evidence of activity anytime soon.
Roadside oddity, Bob's Java Jive, is also located a short distance from Waller. It's worth the trip to sip a cup of Joe in an establishment shaped like a large coffee cup.
