St. Johnsbury Apartment Renter's Guide
"When you visit the Dog Chapel you are totally enveloped with messages of love. It is a very moving experience -- sad, certainly, but also uplifting -- to see how much everyone cherishes his or her dog. Grieving for a lost dog is one aspect of the Dog Chapel, but equally important is celebrating the joy of living and the bond between dogs and their owners." -- Stephen Huneck, artist who created St. Johnsbury's unique Dog Chapel

Moving to St. Johnsbury
Apartment rentals in St. Johnsbury are widely available, and the community is open and welcoming to newcomers. Several years ago, the area started a few development programs to encourage civic-minded people to settle down here. What this means is you can probably start your apartment search a mere month before you are planning your big move. As a rule of thumb, experts suggest giving yourself six to eight weeks to look for the perfect new home, but you might not need that much time to find apartment rentals in this town.
When you go to look at rentals, make sure to bring both proof of your identification and current employment. You may also want to bring some recent bank statements and the names and phone numbers of a couple of character references. St. Johnsbury residents may be unusually friendly, but your landlord will want to make sure you are the real deal.
St. Johnsbury Neighborhoods
Because St. Johnsbury is hardly a full-sized city, it does not have any distinct neighborhoods. However, the southern half of the town tends to be more densely populated than the north, so if you'd like to live where over 80% of the population of St. Johnsbury does -- head south! The populated part of St. Johnsbury is where you will find small to medium-sized apartment complexes and a handful of all bills paid apartments.
If you head toward the north, you will find wide open spaces -- feel free to luxuriate in the sweet sound of silence! This is where you might find condos for rent or even single family homes. You are also more likely to find rental apartments with yards and outdoor spaces included. Avid gardeners, please apply!
Life in St. Johnsbury

Don't worry, there are plenty of indoor attractions too.
