Did you know that an entire fossilized mammoth was discovered in Clute, Texas? Scientists named this natural wonder Asiel and there is now both a museum and adjoining restaurant in honor of her discovery.
The community of Clute is a small city located in the county of Brazoria, Texas, a part of the Houston-Sugarland-Baytown metropolitan area. At the time of the last census in 2010, the total population was hovering at right around 11,200 people and it is continuing to grow today. Chubb Lake and Lake Bend are popular locations for fishing, swimming, and picnicking in the summer months. Want a little more wilderness?
