The average temperature ranges from 16 to 92 throughout the year, but, as any native Kansan will affirm, there is never a dull moment as far as Kansas weather is concerned. In other words, don't be surprised if it snows in April or gets up to 115 in July. The thunderstorms in Kansas can be awesome, and tornadoes are frequent. Oh, you're not a storm chaser, you say? No worries -- although these fits of mother nature are often sighted, they rarely touch down or cause any damage. That being said, it is important to have a basement or storm shelter wherever you choose to live, just in case.
