Steger, Illinois is home to newspaper columnist and U.S Congresswoman Debbie Halvorson.
Steger is a village located on the border between Cook County and Will County in Illinois with a population of 9,570. It's a little over an hour outside of downtown Chicago, and a lot of people love being so close to the city (but not being right in the middle of the action). The city began in 1893 when John Valentine Steger opened a piano factory alongside the railroad. The company eventually led to the town becoming "the piano capital of the world," because it was producing more than 100 pianos per day! The town continued to grow and started to blend into the rest of Cook County and the neighboring Chicago suburbs. The town has two beautiful parks that are popular with local residents -- Harold Hecht Park and Veterans' Park. See more
Renting pet-friendly apartments in Steger should offer peace of mind and convenience for our furry friends. It’s crucial to find an apartment that’ll work for both you and your pet. Before signing a pet-friendly apartment, take your time to study the layout and ask plenty of questions.
Some pet-friendly apartments in Steger may request a pet deposit or only accept certain dog breeds. You should also consider if the floors are hardwood or carpeted. Hardwood may be easier to clean-up fur and a mess but could mean your neighbors below hear the tapping of your dog running past. An outdoor balcony can also be ideal for a pet who needs some fresh air.
Consider the neighborhood of any pet-friendly apartments in Steger. Are they near a dog park or a vet? You should also research the rates of dog walkers in your area. It may be less expensive to move to a nearby neighborhood with a lower pet deposit, a better layout for your pet, and cheaper services.
