Palatka Apartment Renter's Guide
Palatka Apartment Renter's Guide
Overview
It's the water - Because of its location on the St. Johns River, Palatka has always been influenced by the water. It's name is an abridged version of a Native word roughly meaning "cow crossing." A fort was here during the Seminole Wars and the Civil War, and the river still influences life.
Florida today represents a bit of dichotomy -- modern cities that don't really comport to the traditions of the Deep South, surrounded by smaller cities and towns that very much do

Florida today represents a bit of dichotomy -- modern cities that don't really comport to the traditions of the Deep South, surrounded by smaller cities and towns that very much do. It's the latter category that Palatka falls into -- a town with a long history and a feel of Old South.
Moving to Palatka
Home to two historic districts with some buildings dating back to the 1800s, it's not a place where the winds of change blow too strongly. Take the time to make a list that covers what you are looking for and be methodical going through it. Whether going month to month or looking for a long-term lease, a good credit report helps get the best deals.
