Where that comparison falls short is that Edwards is actually more populated -- over 10,000 people call this unincorporated census designated place home, making it the largest town in Eagle County. Laid alongside the Eagle River and Interstate 70, Edwards is an easy commute from all the resorts for workers and those living here for the great recreational opportunities. You are also close to some amazing restaurants and nightlife. Of course, there are a lot of vacation homes here, too. Moving to Edwards
It's important to take into account the special considerations that come with moving to a resort area. Seasonality factors found everywhere are amplified, meaning paying attention to the time of year can be important. If you are moving for a job at the resorts, for example, you could land a better deal overall by moving early -- and you get the upside of being able to enjoy the area. If that's not an option, research still pays off. Edwards Neighborhoods
It's a community laid out with nice living and recreation in mind. Golf links thread through the community, there is access to trails, and lots to do for a town this size. The housing has easy freeway access, as well as US Highway 6. Here's a look at a few characteristics of some parts of town.
Edwards Village and Downtown: The Village is on the south side of I-70 and has a few retail establishments and eateries and that extends across the freeway and along Main Street are the bulk of them. Edwards Village Boulevard loops out to the west from the commercial core and has a mix of premier apartments.
Arrowhead: On the south edge of town, you can literally walk out your door and hop on a ski lift. A premier apartment here can be a dream come true for boarders and skiers. Let's see -- wake up, go outside, hop on a lift, come home -- not a bad way to spend a day!
Brett Ditch: On the west side of town and near the freeway you will find a large manufactured home park and an apartment complex on the south side of the freeway and a couple more on the north. Find 1 bedroom apartments that are convenient for persons commuting on the freeway.
Howard and Winslow: Housing facing golf greens snake through this area near the Howard and Winslow Ditch. It's also a place where you will find homes on ridges along the seasonal creek beds that lead up into the surrounding mountains
