Seward, Nebraska is a small town that was founded in the mid-1900s. Seward is a pretty small place. Its population is less than 7,000 people. However, Seward has a vibrant and thriving community, and it also has its own claim to fame: it's known as the "Fourth of July City." Each year, around 40,000 people come to Seward to celebrate Independence Day, and in 1979, the U.S. Congress officially named the town "America's Official Fourth of July City -- Small Town USA." Some great things happen year-round in Seward, too, and the city has a whole host of friendly people and awesome and convenient amenities.

Each year, the town fills with people to watch fireworks, check out tons of shows and events, and take part in events like runs, sporting games, and more.
The rest of the year, the people in Seward can entertain themselves at the Seward Country Club, in the city's many parks (including Moffitt Park, Seward City Park, and Centennial Park), or at the shops on historic Main St. If you're craving something bigger, head on in to nearby Lincoln. The drive is only about a half hour, and you can get there easily on I-80.
