Commuters in East Grand Rapids spend less time commuting than most other Americans, with nearly half of residents taking only 15 to 30 minutes to reach their place of work. That leaves you more time to hang out, enjoy the lake or simply watch a Michigan Wolverines game. However, it's probably best to own a vehicle in East Grand Rapids. Although there is a bus route in the nearby town of Grand Rapids, it is not convenient to reach without a car.
Whether it's working out with friends at Seva Yoga or gaining back some of that weight at Big Bob's Pizza, East Grand Rapids has plenty to do. Perhaps best of all is Reed's Lake, drawing both local residents and far away visitors. Sailing, yachting and even fishing are popular ways to spend a summer day on the lake, but there are also film screenings and concerts to attend as well. The lake provides a way for people from all over the community to catch up with neighbors and friends in a beautiful and relaxing setting. Ultimately, East Grand Rapids just has that something extra that makes living there worthwhile.
